Ignasi Miquel joins Levante UD
The defender has an extensive career in national and international football.
Levante UD has closed the incorporation of Ignasi Miquel, who will wear the Levante shirt until June 2025, with the option of one more season. The experienced central defender, with an extensive career in national and international football, has become a new member of the Granota squad and from tomorrow he will be under the orders of coach Julián Calero.
Ignasi Miquel Pons (09/28/1992, Corbera de Llobregat) began his training in the RCD Espanyol youth team before going through the youth ranks of FC Barcelona and UE Cornellà. In 2010, he embarked on his first international adventure by signing for Arsenal FC, where he had the opportunity to play in the UEFA Champions League in the 2011/2012 season. In 2013, he joined Leicester City on loan and, a year later, joined Norwich City.
The defender returned to Spain in 2015 to play for SD Ponferradina and subsequently signed with CD Lugo. In the 2017 winter market, Málaga CF acquired his services and allowed him to debut in the highest category of Spanish football. In 2018, he joined Getafe CF and, in the following seasons, he had a string of loan spells at clubs such as Girona FC, CD Leganés and SD Huesca. Granada CF was his next destination in 2022, achieving promotion to the top category with the Granada team in 2023.
Ignasi Miquel has also been international with the Spanish National Team in the Under-17, Under-19 category, with which he was proclaimed European Champion in 2011, and Under-21.
Now, after playing a total of 187 matches in LALIGA HYPERMOTION and 61 in LALIGA EA SPORTS, the center back faces a new challenge at Levante UD.
