Participants of the "Reminiscence Workshop" from the Ballesol Gobernador Viejo Residence, organized by the Levante UD Footballers Association since last April, enjoyed watching the men's first team training session at the stadium today. This was the first of two outings coordinated with Levante UD. The Reminiscence Workshops combine educational activities at the residence with visits to training sessions or guided tours of the stadium, aiming to create enriching and emotionally significant moments for the participants.
The squad, led by their coach Felipe Miñambres and the technical staff, shared experiences with the "Ballelevante UD," a name given to the eleven workshop members by the granota facilitators. They concluded the session with a memorable group photo.
This is the first Reminiscence Workshop launched by the Levante UD Footballers Association, thanks to the project supported by FEAFV, LALIGA, and its Foundation.
Football Against Forgetting
The purpose of this project is to reach out to the elderly, to whom we owe much, providing an excellent opportunity to promote awareness and social sensitivity towards this group. It has been shown that football can be a very effective tool for helping to recover memories, especially for those who have emotional ties or memories associated with the sport. Football, a sport deeply rooted in their lives, allows them to relive the excitement of recalling a match they attended, a victory of their team, or a player they met. By the end of the 12 sessions, participants will have rekindled unforgettable memories and emotions.
The Ballelevante UD
In the first session, the Levante facilitators created "Ballelevante UD," consisting of Laura Gómez, Joaquín Falomir, Jose Roselló, Mª Ángeles Gisbert, Gloria Andreu, Manuel Catalán, Purificación Álvarez, Manuel Ceballos, Vicente Alabau, and Concha Furió. This Reminiscence Workshop team, through their experiences, is sure to end the season revitalized, undefeated, and in excellent physical and mental shape.
