¡League champions!
The Juvenil A has done it again. Eugenio Ribera's team has been crowned league champions for the second time in history after defeating Patacona CF 0-3. The Division of Honor squad has thus repeated the feat achieved on May 30, 2021, and, in addition to clinching the title as the best team in Group 7, will compete in the Champions Cup.
The Granota family has experienced an unforgettable evening at La Patacona, where they celebrated the league championship won by the Juvenil A. Representatives from the club's different bodies have supported the youth team in this special event. President Pablo Sánchez, honorary president Paco Fenollosa, vice president Braulio Pastor, CEO José Danvila, and spokesperson Maribel Vilaplana; members of the senior men's team, such as assistant coach Héctor Rodas, fitness coach Vicente Benítez, and captain Sergio Postigo; Director of the Granota Academy, Joaqui Navarro; Identity Figure, Sergio Ballesteros; coordinators and coaches from the various youth teams; and numerous fans wanted to be by the youngsters' side on a day that has already become part of Levante's history.
Thanks to this afternoon's victory with goals from Joan Prohens, Kareem Tundé, and Alejandro Serrano, Euge Ribera's team has been crowned champions with three matchdays remaining in the league. They achieved 21 wins, four draws, and only suffered defeat twice. Additionally, the team boasts the best defensive record in the group, conceding only 17 goals, while also being one of the highest-scoring teams with 60 goals in their favor.
This achievement is a testament to the excellent work being done in the Granota Academy and validates the success of the development process for young players in Levante UD's youth categories. It's worth highlighting that the coaching staff of the Juvenil A and many of the players have forged a path of joint development through the different youth teams. Players and coaches have thus worked hand in hand in this evolutionary process, following the principles of the Granota DNA and its values. Cohesion, effort, and teamwork have been some of the cornerstones upon which this achievement has been built.
The outstanding performance of the Juvenil A team has not gone unnoticed throughout the season, leading national team selectors to turn their attention to some of the Levante players. This has been the case for Carlos Espí and Álvaro Moreno, who made their debut for the Spanish U-19 national team; Buba Sangare and Paco Cortés, who debuted for the U-17 team; and Borja Cortina, who, after representing the U-16 and U-17 teams, made his debut this season for the U-18 team. Additionally, some of them have also had the opportunity to play their first minutes with the Levante UD first team. Buba Sangare and Carlos Espí have debuted with the senior team and joined Edgar Alcañiz and Xavi Grande, also youth players, who have been part of the first team dynamics. Furthermore, Borja Cortina has also been called up for several first-team matches.
Today's achievement celebrated by Levante's fans is led by the coaching staff, which is composed of Eugenio Ribera (head coach), Ximo Mateu (assistant coach), Jairo Bermúdez (fitness coach), Ángel Ovejero (goalkeeping coach), Álvaro Máñez (analyst), Toni López (analyst), Juan Badía (team delegate), and José Piera (equipment manager).
And, of course, the other protagonists who have represented Levante UD with pride and passion, those who have raised the club's emblem to the highest levels and those who have written another chapter in Levante's history are the following players: Álvaro Moreno, Alejandro Moya, Alberto Calatrava, Álex Ramírez, Alejandro Serrano, Alejandro Peris, Aleix Enríquez, Borja Cortina, Buba Sangare, Carlos Torres, Carlos Espí, Carlos Martín, Carlos Peñaranda, Cayetano Romero, Estiven Josafat, Fran Tomás, Joan Prohens, Juan Diego Gouveia, Juan Carlos Ferrando, Kareem Tundé, Mary Sangare, Nico Font, Paco Cortés, Pablo Rosón, and Salvador Brull
To mark this historic milestone, the members of the Juvenil A team will receive a well-deserved recognition at the match between Levante UD and FC Cartagena at the Ciutat de València Stadium on April 28th. Before the game, the team members will be honored and applauded by the Granota fans.
Congratulations, Granotes!
