Levante UD and José Luis Sánchez Vera will go their separate ways starting next season. The Madrid-born coach, who joined the club in the summer of 2022, concludes his tenure as the head coach of Levante UD's women's first team after two years of elevating the team to new heights in competitiveness, results, and on-field development.

The impressive statistics achieved by Levante UD in Liga F under Sánchez Vera's leadership speak for themselves. In the 2022-23 season, the team finished third in the league, earning a spot in the UEFA Women's Champions League qualifying rounds. This was achieved with an outstanding record of 21 wins, three draws, and only six losses. A key highlight was an 11-game winning streak mid-season, which was crucial for their return to European competition.

In the 2023-24 season, Levante UD finished fourth but again surpassed the 60-point mark. Although the team recorded fewer victories (17), they were more defensively solid, suffering only four losses in Liga F. Additionally, they reached the semifinals of the Supercopa de España, including a remarkable 3-1 victory over Atlético de Madrid in the semifinals.

Promoting Talent from the Youth Ranks

Sánchez Vera's impact extended to the youth teams, with several players from the B team making their debuts in the top tier under his guidance. Notably, the recently renewed Andrea Tarazona made her debut, alongside other promising talents such as Bascu, Gabaldón, Leyre Secades, Carol Herrera, and Esther Gómez.

A Legacy of Development and Success

José Sánchez Vera leaves behind a legacy of development and success, both on and off the pitch. Levante UD thanks him for his dedication and wishes him the best in his future endeavors. The club now looks forward to building on the strong foundation he has established.
